Missing Painting for Lord Kemm's Vault
Hey guys,

I hope someone can help with the issue I'm facing since if I can't solve it, I'd have to reload a now very old save.

So I'm at the point where I need to get through the wall in Kemm's Vault, which requires me to put the third part of a big painting to complete it and hence open the secret door.
Problem is, I don't seem to have that painting.
When I interact with the empty spot, Fane recalls seeing the painting in the Thieves' Guild and I can't do anything more.
I went back to the Guild to be a 100% sure I hadn't forgotten to take the painting there, but it is clearly gone. And I remember taking it after Fane said something about that painting.

So there I am: I don't have the painting on any of my characters, neither in the Lady Vengeance chest.
I checked with a few traders in Arx just to make sure I hadn't accidentally sold it as well but nothing there.

Is it actually possible I have sold it? Is there any other way to get passed through that wall in the Vault?

Same problem here.

It's in the sewers, behind a secret wall in the area with all the deathfog crates. With the trolls and the little kids I'm pretty sure.

edit: nevermind missed the part where he said he already got it from the thieves guild.

i'm pretty sure i lost my lockpicks in those sewers, possibly during the Isbeil cutscene. not sure if that's related.

You did get it from the Kids (that have Trolls with them) right ?

I figured it out: that painting is actually destroyable. So what happened to me is that the painting got burnt when I fough the trolls in the Thieves' Guild :(
I guess you have to be extra careful if you happen to engage in a fight against the trolls.
I'll have to complete that quest on my second playthrough or maybe the devs will fix the issue if that happens to many others.

That's not just a trivial side quest. It's the easiest way to proceed to ending. You should be punished for killing that cute lovely trolls :( In my case, I didn't fight with trolls and just bought the painting. Actually, Many quest items in this game are edible or destroyable.

Didn't want to kill them in the first place. But I lost the persuasion check so they left me no choice ;)

We had almost given up on this quest for our first playthrough but we had the genius idea of stealing the 'replica' of this painting from the Cathedral in Arx. It worked and opened the door!

This game did a really good job of having multiple ways of completing quests with clever thinking.

Did anyone try to add the painting to the inventory using a save game editor like this https://github.com/NovFR/DoS-2-Savegame-Editor ?
