Also what happens to Mrs. G if you destroy/consume the jar — is she dead-for-good and can't be find in the hideout?
That would explain why you can get the same result when looting things in a particular order. I think (but would need to test) that other people would get different results to you, but they would also see the same repeated patterns when opening lootables in a specific sequence.
So far I haven't seen 1h or 2h sword, but I did pretty good 1h and 2h axes, together with T's award of okay shield, if that is what you are going after.
Try all silly comos, up gold than chest, or 3 golds then chest, etc.
Some nice daggers and staves to be had, too.
For example, if you pick any location with many junk containers, like barrels, crates, bones piles, etc... that are only useful for Lucky Find triggers you can see a similar effect.
If you have a location with 10 containers and save before opening any you can see the following:
- assume the 6th container you open triggers a luck find and you get a Helm
- if you relead the save and open the same sequence of containers, the 6th one will always trigger Lucky Find and it will always contain a Helm, but with different stats on the Helm each time
- If you reload the save and open a different sequence of containers this new 6th one will again trigger Lucky Find, but this other container will contain a different item type, like a Wand.
- Reloading and making this new container your 6th will always result in a Lucky Find of a Wand.
The same type of behaviour applies when instead of junk containers you are opening a chest guaranteed to contain loot. What you get will be fixed, so long as you repeat the same looting sequence from your last save.
You're saying container contents are seeded, item stats are completely random, and lucky find occurs after every X container opened (modified by stat)?
That's interesting. So if you really wanted to game the system, you could wait until you get a lucky find, then reload your last save. Then open containers in different orders with your Lucky find always being the one used for a big chest.
Quick save each time before opening the big chest. When the chest opens to an item you want, like a 2-handed mace, simply start reloading that quicksave now right before the chest, as the stats should apparently randomize each time on that 2-handed mace.
Pretty cheese but you should be able to get exactly what you want. Only question is how is item rarity affected? Is it seeded with the item type or random like the stats?
But here, in this room, there really seem to be a some sort of pattern (with sometime "Lucky" trait kicking in and getting extra loot) — that is the point we tried to make.
So, basically there is a way to always get purple shield, wand, dagger or axe. Just needs to be played on it more to figure precise. I started taking notes, but then remembered I hate this kind of save scumming so dropped it fast. :)
Anyhow, I did manage to get nice loot... The one I really wanted upgrade at this point.
Sure there are people who like this system and are patient to reload like there is no tomorrow, so more power to them.
Enjoy :D
I did this last night it works!!! I was rewarded with an ear infection and a sore eye!! ^^
