Rescuing Paladin Cork
I just spent probably about an hour trying to save Paladin Cork. Looking after him definitely made the fight more difficult. Without any spoilers...can someone PLEASE tell me you get something out of this, because all he said was thanks and took off.

You'll meet him again but there's not much of an advantage to saving him other then the satisfaction of doing so ;)

I didn't find it so hard to save the paladin. I did engage the magistrates from the closest spot to him, i.e. after exiting the fort through the door in the room with the stairs. I'm playing on 2nd hardest difficulty and often have trouble keeping my own party alive, but Cork did pretty well in that fight. Never even had to heal him. Is your party all ranged/casters, so that he was face-tanking the enemies all the time?

He's difficult to save if you approach the area from another direction, especially if you're approaching via the ramp up from the prison gate, because he'll be ganged up on by several enemies before you have a chance to get close. Exiting the keep doors to the area allows you to support him right away and your characters will draw some (or most) of the enemy fire.

Oh I went from around the side of the fort, the moment you walk outside there is a tent, a guard and a huge gate leading out the fort.

I couldn't do Tactician... this is probably my first turn-based game I've played. And I have a diverse party - iIfan who uses bows, Sebille with knives/closer quarter combat, Beast with mostly strength and fane who is pure magic.

My positioning could have been better I think and I know some of my moves were COMPLETELY wasted because, well, how would I know their magical armor would be immune to a handful of my abilities?
