I'd say nay, best to play vanilla to end at least once, before throwing mods in.

Nay. You need to know which aspect of the vanilla game you'd like to change first before apply the mods.

Nay. How will you know what addons you want to use if you're never played the vanilla game?

Nah, addons disable achievements so there's no point.

Depends on the type of mods. The one which prevents items from entering the hotbar is nice, for instance. Doesn't alter the game experience in any. In it's current form, any consumable you pick up is added to the hotbar even if you set it to "locked", so the mod really just fixes it so it's how it should be.

Just keep in mind that it also stops spells from automatically getting added to the hotbar, so you have to do that manually when you learn a new spell ("K"). Also, this isn't a spoiler in any way but, some of the Polymorphism spells grant you new spells/skill when used. Those also don't get added, so in combat you might have to, once again, use "K" to add them to your hotbar.

This is a good point if you're into that.

Probably not. I think only QoL and minor graphical enhancement mods are a good idea for the first playthrough, but unless someone's successfully done an inventory overhaul mod that I don't know about yet, there aren't any mods of that sort out yet.
