ALT DOES NOT EVEN HIGHLIGHT EVERYTHING IT ONLY HIGHLIGHTS WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO SHOW YOU.

100% agree. Especially the ground is that sand color. The golden glow blends in a lot and it's hard to see where the character that allegedly spotted something is pointing to. Trying to search for it is not exactly how I want to spend my game time.

I am waving my mouse everything and its not finding anything and this is not the first time it happened like 5 times already and I am still only in act 2. (early act 2)
The cave near the Dwarfs that were possessed had something I never found at the end. Now in the Tavern near the cook I hear it again and still can't find it.

Wost case for me was in act 4, when they find things behind paintings, If I was not such a loot ♥♥♥♥♥ i would have never seen what they found.

I must admit to being aggravated by this as well. It's a bit odd how picky the highlight button is. Makes me want to throttle my companions as times.

IIRC You can use the "Bless" spell (don't cast it), it will highlight every object you can interact with, including hidden doors, floorboards, etc.

Its not simply whining.... its suomething that fudamentally does not work sometimes what ever the reason is be a glitch or what ever. I honestly don't care about the items I can see but stuff like that you cannot see is total BS.
When they find something it should glow. Its really that simple OR at least have the dude who found it WALK TO IT that be nice.
