He don't have any significant appearance later in game if saved
Only bother, if you don't have the achievement and want it.
It can be a very hard fight.
I killed him once, and have never killed him since because it really can be a pain in the butt sometimes.
Unless you have a mainly magic dmg dealing party the fight is insanely easy.
Untrue. Magic damage party found him very easy too.
Don't worth it : you don't need use purging wands at all to reach Alexander here (helmet of tyrant far better for it), so you can keep them for later.
Plus you will get notable more xp for killing him.
It's not untrue, magic parties have to deal with much more armor and if you are using water/electric you're going to have a rough time getting him down. Is it still easily doable? Yes. Is it easier with physical? Also yes.
Kill him either way. There's no reason to keep him alive outside of RP
Water/electric not viable combo on dps mage before Act 2 (and even a bit into act 2 - you need superconductor and global cooling).
Someone play with maxed Huntsman / Scoundrel and don't know about warfare - sure, Slane fight will be hard for them too.
You can do both with the right timing, you must accept the reward really quick and attack him right after (CTRL + left click him).
