He was in no position to be giving me any lip. It's actually kind of annoying, the writing in this game. If there's 4 heavily armored fighters in my party, whom just took the ship, he should be begging to explain things to me and show respect.
Not everyone's a badass, Divinity Team, in fact only a small small percent are, even in fantasy games like these. Make them squeamish and meek when facing tough and gruff, battle hardened warriors who are pointing their weapons in their direction.
I stick to my principles as I roleplay in these games. He didn't give me sufficient answers, therefore I have no idea whom he is, or working for. So it's quite clear what I would do if I were in that situation.
But yes, I figured I was killing someone who was "good". Again, annoying writing/character development on the Dev's side of things.
So in a sense you gimped yourself for killing him.
And I'd do it again too.
Is every stupid character going to be glib, sarcastic and arrogant around me, especially if they already know I'm Godwoken? Dumb dumb dumb. Cliche writing.
Hah, fair enough.
Its actually not. Malody, Tarquin and some other characters are written in way you don't like them from beginning. But later you may see you've been wrong (or not ;)). While some other characters are written friebdly and nice but hide evil behind back. Its pretty good mind and temper games from devs side. You may like and dislike some characters, but you also can be wrong about both cases.
Don't blame the devs, in real life there are lots of shady characters who will never tell you everything. What makes this game great is the grey areas where you have to make these decisions. You made yours, perhaps some others will take the risk to see where it leads. The game tries to avoid making your decisions for you, or even influencing them. Some decisions may seem easy, some won't, some you have no real control over the outcome even though you thought you did.
The game allows you to have poor judgement if you want to.
2. Until you attack him you dont know how powerful he is.
He knows alot about necromancy so he attitude might be justified. The game developers obviously didnt but they could have put a suprise powerful character in the game.
