So, with the Red Prince's Storyline [SPOILERS EVERYWHERE]
So I've gotten to Driftwood as the Red Prince, and I party is doing pretty fine, but while I was expecting some rise to power storyline what I got was... The most irritating one imaginable. I've already kind of restarted as Beast because his plot annoyed me enough, but I've also invested so much time into this playthrough that I'm reluctant to completely abandon the file. So I basically have one question.

How ♥♥♥♥♥♥ will I be if I murder the Red ♥♥♥♥♥ on sight?

The Red Princes story is ♥♥♥♥♥♥!! Once I finish this playthrough i'm going to make a big long rant on how much I detest the Red Prince.

The most appealing character to me on the character creation screen was the female lizard. So graceful and elegant yet so cunning and deadly at the same time. I made a female lizard with the intention of romancing any male lizard. I didn't care who it was, I just wanted a male lizard who would be my companion, my friend, my guide, and eventually my romantic interest.

Unfortunately the only male lizard available to your party is the Red Prince and he is ♥♥♥♥. I constantly wanted to strangle him at every turn. He kept dropping hints at me that he loved me along our journey like staring at me in the eyes for a long time without saying anything, giving me a very long warm hug, and telling me how much traveling with me has meant to him and how I've helped soften his hardened heart. Then he stabs me in the back and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sleeps with another female lizard who looks like a prostitute and smokes weed all day long (no seriously she does. When you encounter her BOTH TIMES she is literally smoking weed) all because he thinks it's his "destiny" even though I'm the one who has been with him all this time.

Drunadae* Not even weed.
Also, your pre-made character isn't a dreamer. Maybe pre-made lizards are from a different house to the Red Prince.
I found his story rather intriguing. His attitude in some dialogs are great, he's so over-the-top on his own character it's half the appeal. Lohse is still better though.

I'm sure his character is intriguing if you're not trying to romance. Romancing him was a mistake.

Far and away my favorite character in the game is Fane. I should have just used the shapeshifter mask to turn him into a lizard and romanced him instead of that jackass prince.

Weeellll okay the problem is that I specifically played the Red Prince because I wanted to play a gay character, and I originally played as Ifan but found out he's the only really fleshed out male romance option in the game so I started over. And I thought it wouldn't bug me when I realized this is what I'd be putting up with but it does. So now I guess I'm Beast the gay dwarf. Unless I can do something about this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Red Beard. Which is what I want to know.

What pissed me off was how obvious something was fishy with her really wanting to bang him right then, after we'd just survived multiple assasination attempts. But despite being a "tactician", this bastard thinks with his ♥♥♥♥, and has the gall to spit in my face afterwards?

At that moment, I really wanted to kill him.

Greetings, like all nobles the Red Prince can and will have multiple relationships. Namely he will have romance with both the Red Princess and you, assuming you don't betray him.

Finally someone gets it. His misplaced love for the Red Princess is completely stupid!

Literally LITERALLY 5 minutes ago we were ambushed by a band of assassins and after it was over, he gave me a very long warm hug and buried his face into my shoulder. I was so touched I felt my heart melt a little. Then LITERALLY 5 minutes later he jumps into a wagon with a slutty-dressed princess and bangs her while my party has to watch out for the same assassins who attacked us 5 minutes ago!!!

See but again my questiuon is: I am playing as the Red Prince. I don't want to bone the Red Princess. Can I tell her to ♥♥♥♥ off, or better yet, just murder her myself, without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself over. That's all I want to know.

That should have changed. Isn't that the point of character development? It would have been perfectly fine if the Red Prince started off at the beginning at arrogant, self-centered, and polygamous (as per his royal nature), but through his journey he learns humility, respect, and compassion.

Here is the biggest problem: He was kicked out of the empire for being a greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Yet, throughout this long adventure we have, he learns nothing and at the end of the game he is still the same self-centered person he was at the beginning. This is what is referred to as a static character.

Why does the prince think he can go back to the empire and everything will be great? He's still a greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the end of the game, which is the reason he got kicked out in the first place!

His story is actually very similar to Thor from Marvel Comics. Expelled from his kingdom for being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, only allowed to return once he has learned what it takes to be a true leader. But unlike Thor, the Red Prince learns nothing, has everything handed to him, and expects everything to be fine when he gets back home. What's to stop me from thinking that once he gets back home he'll just do the same thing and get expelled AGAIN, then we're back to square one.

You can't murder her on the first encounter, you can on the second. I made a HUGE mistake by letting him into the wagon with the red princess. I was just worried I would get like -100 attitude. The reason why I didn't stop him was because I didn't know that attitude meant nothing. I thought you had to build someones attitude to the highest possible value for them to want romance you. I was wrong. Whether you have someone's attitude at 10 or 100 you can romance them regardless. If I would have known this, I would have stopped the Red Prince from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ her.

What? He wasn't kicked out for being greedy he got kicked out for making love with a demon, if it was anyone or anything else he would probably be fine. Also the whole house of shadows also played a role in why he got kicked out.(To prevent him from turning his race back to their origins)

He said himself his yearning for the Red Princess it not for some selfish motive, its something etched in his soul like destiny. For the good of his people he was basically destined to give birth to the dragons. He's scholar who knows this destiny/dream is very significant for the benefit of his people. To abandon all that just to make love with someone would be far... far greedy.

Do remember he has both the scholar and noble tag as his character traits. To make irrational choices like abandoning his people for the sake of love is something he won't do.

I completely agree with everything you're saying here. The Red Prince storyline needs a revamp with the option to dissuade him from this damn destiny quest stuff. He's really compelling until Sadha comes into the mix-- then it's just a series of wasted opportunities.
Sentientmonkey Oct 12, 2017 @ 10:13pm
It's settled then. I'm turning Sadha into chunky salsa, and if that extincts the lizards, well, it's their fault for hinging their future on the sexuality of one dude. *backs out of the room with both middle fingers extended*

Now now before you do that, remember if you let them have sex, you can catch a dragon egg for a powerful summon. Afterwards you can do w.h.a.t.e.v.e.r you want with her.
