[SOLVED][SPOILER] Can't Pray to Amadia on Nameless Isle

So I've successfully finished the quest Up in the Clouds and got the gloves. But I just can't pray at the altar of Amadia above. She doesn't respond, "I only hear the chirping of the birds," the narrator says, and no symbol appears upon praying. Neither can I unlock the achievement here on Steam. I've spent an eternity trying to figure this thing out and I must suck at googling things because I couldn't find an answer on the net either. Or no one else encountered this problem, I dunno. Can anyone please help?

Well, upon further investigation, it seems that this bug occurs because I killed the Sallow Man. It's really like the umpteenth bug I encountered in this game...

Don't get the information about getting into the temple from either Alexandar or Sallow Man, that locks the shrines up for some reason.

There is an entrance to the temple that doesn't require any alter activations (you can actually go right thru to the end immediately upon arriving on the nameless isle). The path begins in the lava sections of the map.

You don't *need* to activate the altars. It's just one way to get the info. Alexandar and the Sallow Man can both provide it in various ways instead.
