It feels so wrong.
I mean, the characters just up and ignore the cat. It's legitimately the most horrible thing that happens in this game.
"-What he says?
-That cat loved her so much, his love kept him alive in death just to keep her company.
-Ok, take the girl, leave the cat suffer here alone for eternity, I don't care".
I mean, wow. That can't be right.
I've only just come up on to the deck of the ship after keeping malady alive and speaking with my god in the hall of reverberating wierdness so i've got no idea.
if you think thats hard, im 300hrs in and I still cant get the achievements for that battle.
thats typically the response people give. Dos2 isnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around.

Checked my achievements and the last two were seascape and heaven's gate.
eep! The heaven's gate cult! They were those wierdos that believed an alien spacecraft was slip streaming the Hale-Bopp comet and they committed mass suicide so that their souls could rise up and hitch a ride with the aliens. There was like 11 of them i think. True story hahaha

If this single quest line is fixed, I will play again.
If it is not currently fixed, I will continue to not touch it.
lol Man i gotta start checking thread post dates. This will be the third necro this week i've post on. When i first post i didn't realise someone had resurrected. Was in most recent so bang. Ima check from now on.
Anyway, still being relatively new, i've only just gotten up to mordus and have recieved my second source slot and have not yet got up to this buttons bit, after reading your post like a week ago i researched a little and what i think is this.. Not sure that it's been fixed per se however if you choose the negative option all the animals in cloisterwood i believe just kinds explode, true story, but if you take the positive option and save the cat animals w/e, you still do lose the pet pal trait. So if you go to the mirror first and swap out pet pal, you won't lose it. Just swap it back after you've finished talking. Also apparently you only lose pet pal if it's on the character that actually does the talking. No other characters will lose it.
Hopefully this will be enough so you can keep playing. Tbh i'm an animal person too, especially cats and i'd lose the pet pal trait before i'd let the cat die. Luckilly this won't seem to be an issue because you don't get too many traits, and it would be a bummer to lose an important one, if you want more dialogue options and just options in general that is, as the pet pal trait.
Pretty much you save the girl, whom the cat has been protecting, but....there's no options for the cat.
Save the girl, get her back safely to your ship...and no dialog options for ghost cat.
Talking to ghost cat is just the cat being absolutely devestated.
I'm not like...super sensitive to stuff in games either. But I got super immersed in this and that straight up made me depressed.
