Hahahaha, I love ice. I would have done that but the water from the barrel was already used by them in the fight and I conveniently didn't have my rain spell memorized x_x
All of the above act as accuracy increases.
Ice has to actually hit a target to cause Chill if I remember correctly. And I had a constant Clear Mind buff on. Too much fire around for Oil to be a thing, sadly. And Bless wasn't an option, as I didn't currently have any source when I started the fight.
For physical - dog & silent monk start without magic armor. Mind maggots grenade on high-initiative char work like charm, buying you enough time to deal with enemies.
My team is a ranger/hydro Ifan, a ranger/hydro/aero Lohse, a 1 hander + shield Beast with aero spells and a little geo, and a 1 hander + shield + geo (mostly defensive) + pyro Red Prince. The two melee each have two physical armor restoring spells plus shields up. Ifan and Lohse both have restoration and first aid. Lohse has frost armor and Ifan has both that and soothing cold.
This gives me four knockdown abilities, several shocking, and quite a few freezing spells. That one ice spell that blasts a moderately large radius with no friendly fire ate through magical armor after which I set the whole gallows area on fire iirc. I was level 9 but came out of the first act fairly well geared.
Either I lucked out and pelted her with magic incidentally or I'm talking about a totally different encounter. I am on Classic not Tactician though.
Sounds like the same encounter. I've never played on anything but Tactician though, so I don't know if Ninyan has the evasion aura in Classic or not. But the aura is permanent and gives her and everyone within a sizeable radius a 90% chance to dodge everything, both melee and ranged, whether single or aoe. The only thing I found that doesn't roll against the dodge was Earthquake. (And I used a LOT of different spells and attacks). As they've stated, there are ways to combat dodge, I just didn't have anything other than the Clear Mind buff and I was running a single character game, so no companions. I did end up killing her after throwing her away with teleport to get the aura off of her friends to take them out and then just throwing fireball and such all over the ground and running her through it until she died though lol.
Almost all auras are tactician-only "features" of crap combat design. So you don't see them on classic / explorer.
He's dead the neck up. Don't ever trust pooting minion.
After you're done with them, stun/freeze her and have fun.
