And as mentioned, thanks to vampirism there is no reason not to have full source at the end of every fight.
When I played, I made a point of only draining the spirits of spiteful enemies, many of whom are under the impression their King is going to bring them back once he wins; quite disappointing for them when backing the wrong horse gets them destroyed for all time. But I won't drain from ally spirits or the innocent. I'm still, quite often, source plentiful. (For my second playthrough, though, I did download the mod to make Bless a free ability)
For a melee character they're more or less superfluous. I guess a shield user will want Overpower and a Dagger Dual Wielder can use Mortal Blow as an opener, but the rest of the melee source skills are crap.
