Great, thanks. Someone else told me the letter had to do with the wedding, but none of the dialogue around that area was special for Beast.
The sewers seem like the only possible place left to go which doesn't have level 20 demons which attack on sight, so that's probably the only move I have anyway.
The point I would like Larian to notice is that it would have been nice if the game had given me some kind of direction at all, instead of leaving it up to finding a ghost standing outside a sewer entrance.
It tells you that Lohar wants you to go to Arx. So, the next point of progress is in Arx...
While in FortJoy, his journal updates with something about seeing Lohar in the driftwood. It doesn't specify that he runs the undertavern shady business.
That, paired with the whole queen justinia and sidekick being in Arx is heavily hinted at during Reaper Coast main story quests.
What do you want the journal to tell you? Go to Arx, confront queen justinia? p.s "here's her location within Arx since she's unable to move around the city. seems self explanitory to me, explore Arx find quest continuation.
Red Prince knows about the lizard consulate prior to Arx, I believe thats when you meet the Red Princess at the north of Reapers Coast, perhaps during nameless isl.... Lohse knows about Doctor Daeva during reapers coast due to Jahan.
Lohse's quest isn't... Go to Arx, go to the 3rd mansion on the north east side of the city p.s you need to kill 1 of 2 people to get invited through the front door. Doctors got candles and friends btw be prepaired.
Red princes quest isn't... Oh btw there is a portal in that hell of a room with the worst enemies in the game, click it to get to the conclusion of this quest.
Beasts quests isn't.... Go to Arx, in the sewers you'll find Queen Justinia and co doing bad things with deathfog.
The direction Larian provides you is that it is in Arx, just like the tip for Lohar was that he's in driftwood.
Is it even a skip-able part of Arx?
Do you realize that there is a difference between get SOMETHING, and getting NOTHING? Even something like "The authorities might be the best ones to know about Dwarven smuggling" would be a breadcrumb that would give you a vague direction.
There are clues that suggest something very fishy is going on underground, likely related to Deathfog, which in turn is directly connected to Queen Justinia, the very woman you were supposed to be looking for in Arx. Didn't seem that vague to me... but maybe it's because I had him as my companion rather than as my avatar. Anyway just my two cents.
Like the deathfog you can see seeping from under the city through the ravines etc that are... UNDER the city? Only hint I needed in order to figure out where the deathfog is coming from...
You are given something. You are told to go to Arx by Lohar because deathfog was shipped there. You were once told to go to driftwood because Lohar is there...
You explored Driftwood = you found Lohar.
You explored Arx = you found Justinia.
I for one find it far better to think about the area (death fog clearly seeping from under the city... just go to the beaches to see it) than to have glaring hints/direction in a log. That becomes a chore, a task. Not a quest. May as well be "go collect 15 wolf pelts and bring it back" because anything that would hint towards sewer would simply make it no mystery/puzzle what so ever.
Now maybe I am being unfair because I am disappointed at how much less Beast gets to do in his Origin quest compared to every other character, combined with being annoyed about being attacked by level 20 demons when I do try to wander the city looking for a lead.
But I don't think asking for just the slightest nudge such as "The authorities might be the best ones to know about Dwarven smuggling" after 20 plus hours of no advancement in Beast's Origin quest at all is ridiculous hand-holding.
Besides his personal quest, The Secrets of the Dwarves quest also covers this Deathfog business so it's worth looking into. Lohar, Isbeil, Justinia, everyone and everything is Dwarf related. So naturally, you go find someone with a Dwarven heritage. (Which happens to be that Lord Ros you mentioned but yeah I don't recall seeing his name on the letter either. Maybe they changed it because they though it was too vague?) Search the area around his house to find the clues. Detecting traces of Deathfog in someone's garden statue isn't exactly an everyday experience you know.
(I have to admit that Beast didn't get much attention in the Nameless Isle tho. What did he do other than retrieve his fancy bicorne? He and Lohse were pretty much invisible in Act 3 IMO.
Lohse had a lot to do in Act 3. Have you played her as an origin character? Her story is involved in the sallow man quest.
So... it's just Beast then? :/
So, is the Wedding where I am supposed to go first, or is it the sewers? Because I'm getting two conflicting directions.
All the entrances are locked, none of the people around there have [BEAST] tags in their dialogue, and talking with them doesn't even produce an quest update under "My Story - Beast O' The Sea" which says 'I should find a way into the wedding.' Because Beast isn't my Persuasion character (a mistake), he doesn't even get a [BEAST] option to persuade the drunk woman to hand over her wedding invitation, so Red Prince will have to do that.
EDIT: And the wedding invitation specifies a woman and both Beast and my persuasion character are male, so I can't even do that. So the invitation is useless, wonderful. Sewers it is, then.
So you are supposed to go to the wedding first, but get only one letter as a breadcrumb back in early Act 2 with no [BEAST] options to try and talk your way in.
So I don't give one crap what people say, this is not working properly.
