It's a bit like if the Magisters complained because each turn, your Summoner add a new totem on the battlefield.
But yeah, I agree with you, some fight are linked to a specific script and drive you crazy until you figure what to do.
The lizard consulate was, for me, the worst fight ever ...
Hm, the enemies in the Blackpits encounter spawn in three set waves, IIRC. What exactly are you seeing happen?
With Hannag, if she aggros and creates portals, you can attack the portals directly to stop the flow of enemies. Are you also saying that she aggroed even when you tried to help her?
For Rince battle - there's a sort of... specific way to deal with it. It was driving me crazy first few attempts, but then figured out the trick for this one.
In short: simply find a good spot (and there's a pretty obvious one) and keep fending off waves. Ranged attack large blobs, melee - small ones. Any summons will be a big help, even if they don't do much damage.
Also you don't really have to kill off all the magisters right away - they will be of help since they often switch to attack blobs, or become targets of these black mofos. As an option - teleport them far away, so they end up fighting voidlings.
And by the way, how do you survive such fights without any summons? I have 3 pets I can summon, I can't imagine some of these fights without them oO
If you agreed to help her and she aggroed anyway, I believe that's a bug that I've seen (and seen others reporting). You should try starting the fight outside of her line of sight.
They do keep spawning--three waves or so.
It's such a drawn-out fight that having a support oriented character or two is worth while. But like Pillagius said, get a couple of your guys with ranged attacks to play king of the hill on top of the derrick and that's half the battle right there.
EDIT:
Yes, you should have acquired or will acquire that skill by pursing the "Powerful Awakening" questline.
Or you can just sneak behind the shrieker using the sneak skill or invisibility, then use source vampirism. As soon as your start the source vampirism animation the shrieker can't do anything.
You could even sneak behind him, activate the portal and then leave him alone if you dont have the source vampirism skill yet, which was my case in my 1st playthrough. The portal is somewhat safe to teleport to even if the shrieker is alive, but leaving a pyramid on the floor a bit further is a lot safer.
I only picked this game to play now.
Anyway, this is how I killed those monster easily on Gwydian's fight:
The primordials HAVE to die quick;
There are two spawn points for them, one northwest and one northeast of the main tower;
Have at least two casts of Rain or Blood Rain;
Have at least Two casts of Teleport;
Make the teleporter have access to both Spawn Points (on top of the tower);
Make the Rain caster have access to one;
Teleport one of the Primordials to the opposite side (on both spawns, Oil Primordials and Fire Primordials);
One Rain MUST be used as soon as the FIRE Primordials arrive, because they spawn cursed oil and sets it on fire on THEIR TURN, thus, using Rain before their turn comes stops that.
How you kill them is up to you, I had some good Electric AOE and Freezing spells, that with rain kept them stunned while I killed 'em.
Hope it helps other people picking this game on GOG, like me.
(Had to run this encounter a few times since I'm underleved/geared...)
