Gamebreaking bug - Lucian Crypt Pipe Puzzle

You're supposed to get blood on the grate so it will flow down to the puzzle but it's not working for me.

The grate is literally covered in gallons of blood but it's not going to the bottom. I've been gutting my characters until every inch of the grate is covered in blood but still nothing.

The grate down below is completely dry.

I cannot progress.

Use Rain Blood and then bless it at the end where it should be.

OP, raubrey's advice is good and the most common way to work around the bug. In case it wasn't clear enough, he means to try to target the destination with Blood Rain and bless it, ignoring the grate entirely.

You can use the teleporter pyramids to get through the shield and onto the ledge, then you can jump down, fly, teleport, etc. Then you can just walk to the end and use the elemental abilities in the bowl thing and bless them, this will allow you to completely bypass the puzzle.
