up to 2 people can play split sreen on each computer so 2 and 2 i imagine. Yes the game is still turned based in multiplayer.

In case you have 2 monitors the game suport play in 2 monitors instead of spliting?

Battles will be turn based no matter what but you can move independently outside of battle.

I don't know how many people can play on the same screen but I think the screen only splits into 2 halfs at most. So it may only support 2 in local co-op or there'd have to be a restriction of keeping the party together I would think.

Can't say for certain but that's very unlikely. I've never seen any software attempt that.

I'm pretty sure it won't support dual monitor sadly. It's a "dynamic" split-screen which means that if you are in the same vicinity you share the screen and it splits only when you part ways (which you may not do that often in local coop).

The maximum number of players is 4 and it's possible to mix local and online at the same time (like doing 2 on one computer and + 1 + 1 on two others, or 2 + 2).

It's working as intended. Bringing a character over to a different save file would be bad for various reasons.
EDIT: You can still customize your own character if you join during character creation.

I was assuming it would probably throw people onto one of the characters in the host's save or something. I'm expecting state of decay 2's multiplayer to do something similar, cause of all of the characters the game will have. Or like fable 2 did, with that generic character somebody mentioned.

2 Questions

1- If someone is far ahead in the game, almost finishing lets say... means i cant join them?
2- If i can join someone else's game, when they are far... i cant customize my character, or have my "own" character?

As long as the host has a character in his group that is not controlled by a player you can join the game. You'll take control of the character the host asigns to you. Only when you join in character creation you can create your own character. This character is bound to the hosts save file though.

But can a character creation be started when you are not starting the game per se?

No. This game doesnt support the multiplayer you have in mind (being able to create a character and joining others with said character).

The multiplayer doesnt work like Diablo 3, so you dont create a character and join other peoples games using that same character. When you join a game already in progress you assume control of one of their characters and you have no choice over any customization thats already been done. IF you join a game when its being created, you can make a completely custom character that will be bound to the hosts save game, meaning you can keep playing your character with the same host through the entire game. So in summary, make some freinds and play with them, dont rely on joining random internet people unless you want to play their toons.

You start together, you finish together.

Though this is a prefect example of someone buying something without any clue of how it works or what it is.
