Can this game run on a Core 2 Duo E6850?
The requirements say minimum of a Core i5, but in the original version, my old Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.0Ghz paired with a Radeon HD 7700 ran the game beautifully at max settings. I was counting on being able to run the sequel without too much trouble on the same system, maybe having to dial back some of the settings. Has anyone tried this on a similar CPU?

I'd expect it to be ok. Hopefully someone has tried it with similar system specs and can provide more accurate feedback...

I put the question to Larian on Facebook Messenger, so hopefully they'll have a clear answer. I'll post back here with their answer. Thanks for noting your thought on it.

I am using this processor and play D:OS 1.
Is quite OK. Loading will be a problem only if you save scum for loot.
I am not using SSD so I not sure how much SSD can improve

As I said, D:OS1 played just fine, but the minimum spec on that for a CPU was a lighter-weight Core 2 Duo, where as D:OS2 requires a much beefer Core i5. Larian got back to me and said it probably wouldn't work, as it's a 10 year old processor by now, but I'm going to download the early access version this weekend to see if it'll play. I'll post back again here.

My rig is fx 8320 and 280x. Divinity 1 played on max settings with over 60fps. This one plays with 30-40 fps on the first map, on max settings as well. If we assume your system is a bit lower than mine, it should be able to run normally in medium settings

Just posting back to let people know that you can definitely run this game with the processor and GPU combo I posted with. Running at medium levels at 1080p, and although I don't always get perfect framerates, it's entirely playable and looks quite good, and could run very smoothly by knocking down a few settings.

I run a E8400 Duo Core OC4.0G with GTX960. With everything on Ultra I clock from 35 to 50 FPS on the beach and 15 to 25 in the first town. Tuning down to High gives another 2 to 4 fps, not really noticeable. While far from perfect, I found it definitely playable.

I am surprised how smooth this was running on a decade-old CPU and this performance has successully killed my desire to upgrade my PC. Kudos to the Dev team for utilizing the performance on old PC and I do appreciate your skills in achieving his, which is no small feat.

Now, if we can have a date for releasing this game on PS4, I would enjoy it twice as much on a much bigger TV screen than a 22' monitor...
