However, the "issue" people keep bringing up concerning the elves in this game is not a graphical one - it's a design principle; it is how the developers decided to portray and write the elves in their universe and there is nothing wrong with it. Not all elves in games have to be tree-hugging beauty queens/kings. There are more than enough other RPGs out there if you need to have fancy elves in your gaming diet - I suggest playing those instead of trying to get the developers to swap out their somewhat original take on that race for the homogenized elves you see in every run-off-the-mill RPG out there.
I agree with you. I love playing as a elf in RPGs, and it is really nice to see something different looking to the Tolkien-esque elves that have become the standard 'beautiful' elf in gaming.
Also Elder Scroll series had tall dwarves, but they called htem dwemers.
Art design and direction is importent and if people don't like it, don't matter how good your graphics are it's will always look bad.
Dwemers arent Dwarves they're Elves. Elves in the Elder Scrolls series are called Mer.
Bos-Mer, Dun-Mer, Orsi-Mer(Orcs), Alt-Mer.
TES decided to divide Elves into different sub-races. There are no Orcs. There are no Dwarves. Only Elves.
About elves i like these elves as they are unigue not someting like typical waifu ones what i see everytime. They are really simiar bosmer in elders scroll. They also cannibilize and use bone as armor while living in woods and dosent want to harm forest anyway. But having abilty to make elves your type is important but trying to change current role is not something i would recommend.
While i agree with that player should have ability to make their own style of character in Role playing game but i think devs dont have budject to build something so advance. While i can make ugliers people look decent for my roleplaying experience and im personally happy with atlest with this amount of adjustment in character creation.
For sample i take human male i add possesed skin, add face 5 and hair 6 facial 9 and carpenter color of hair. While playing rogue or inquisitor. With dialogue typically are something between 3 of these. noble, scholar and soldier.
Added: One biggest problem i have for starting the game is you cannot pick your starting weapons at all outside of looking at builds and pick one what is closet to your build with starting weapons. Let me pick my own weapons like poison wand with magic shield for wizard build.
The elves' design is a matter of the devs, if they like it, ok. But the muscular bodies kill my immersion at least if playing a ranged or magical character. It would be nice if there were a choice between two bodies, "thin/normal" and "on steroids" maybe.
I still say they need to do a better job explaining why elves now look the way they do in the game. Hand waving thing is just annoying and lazy.
I have no problem with the appearance of the elves, they look unique?, but I don't like their armor being made of leaves even if there is a lore reason behind it.
The lizard females look cool, but they need more color options for the face. And the males look kinda goofy.
The dwarvs are ok i guess.
So yeah, more customization for all races would be great.
I also think it would be cool to pick your starting weapon(s).
EDIT: Also, there will be a lot of more customisation options e.g. hair etc. that are not implemented yet.
Will you add weapon pick start of game with out picking something closes your desired weapon. Like for my self i feel when playing witch or poison classed character who uses zombie trait i could have poison weapon max dmg.
This point is not decided yet and we are trying different things here. I have forwarded your feedback to the guys in charge.
Those are beautiful art works with rich color palets ........well done
