Does killing Kalias block off the Withermore quest?

Playing as Sebille i had the option to kill Kalias (the lizard in the cave) and figured it would be something that she would do. About an hour later i remembed the quest for Braccius spear exists and went to talk to Mody and found i cant interact with him with any characters. Have i completely screwed myself? Is it a bug? Is there another way to get the spear/quest?

If you have fairly high wits on a character they may be able to find the entrance down to him.

If you know where the entrance is you can just 'force dig' where it is by using a shovel, either from your hotbar or just right clicking it. =3
