Is This Game in Early Access Limbo?
Is this going to be one of those games that doesnt get finished because people have already paid for it? It seems like its been in early access for quite some time now.

I havent bought the game yet for the EA because i dont want to encourage studios to not finish their game because they got what they wanted already.

Considering how far the game has come, why don't we have a release date?

Yes, there is more than just balancing changes and bug fixes in the next update.

Just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix repair hammer. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick that a solid, reliable iron piece would disappear after repairing a cloth cap once? Thats just plain stupid.

I got into the classic in 2014 i think, thats when i discovered these guys. Personally i think its irresponsible to give studios that kind of trust cuz they can so easily burn you (which many have).

If DOS1 went through this process, thats great then because it is a great game. If its too soon or my concern is misplaced then awesome, I guess we will wait for the next update.

Totally agree. Devs these days think - if they just finish their game, they already think that they are "awesome" and praised by eveyrone. While this is somthing they should do by default, lazy c0cкsuскers.

Charming. You're an asset to the society.

I don't buy EA games anymore but there are some dev teams that I trust fully and one of them is Larian! They will deliver a really good game for sure. And a good game takes time which I have.

They are while we demand that quality from them. At the moment when the majority will take everything Larian do as granted, they will start to be lazy, rude to users, and overall declining.

Every dev goes that way, no exceptions.

They will also kill, cook and eat your hamster.

Don't EA. Think of hamsters!

I got the game already but I never play EA as I don't want to get sick of the game before it even comes out. Problem is I have this, Torment, and Starpoint Gemini: Warlords and no clue when they will come out except now Torment got a street date finallly. So I guess we just wait. This has only been in EA for less than a year so not unreasonable, I just wish there was some clarity on when it would be officially released (as some things come out of EA very silently and I don't even hear about it).

They were recently at Pax South(last weekend)promoting the game which is what actually got me to purchase it. If that helps put anyone at ease

Early Access is a cancer of the video game industry.

D:OS would not have been the game it became if not for Early Access, and the Kickstarter before that.

Early Access is a very good concept, but its way to easy for devs to abuse the system.

Nah, greedy ♥♥♥♥♥ are. Early Access is just way too easy for greedy ♥♥♥♥♥ to unfairly exploit.

The cancer of calling everything cancer is the cancer of the game industry.

Things like EA are multi-facaded and deep-running systems with their own strengths and weaknesses. Yet people are too ignorant to notice that so they just reduce everything to the lowest common denominator - which is currently no man's sky - and run with that. You wont have to search far for stunningly stupid statements like "all procedural gens are crab because no mans aky", and thats so obviously obliviously obnoxious ignorance speaking. Compared to that, blank "EA is so bad I don't need to cite reasons" is dime a dozen.

EA by itself is not bad so are things like pre-orders and DLCs. These are all very good tools that can enhance a game or support smaller studios. The problem is people. If i have to explain this to you then you havent been following the industry long enough.

Content update possibly? Myself and many of my friends have been holding off on this amazing game until it gets closer to release. It says it will be released this year, but that could mean December 2017 and then get delayed even further. Don't want to buy the EA on the chance that could be it.

New areas are not going to be added during Early Access, but there will be content added to the first act (only the basics of the crafting system are in now, for example).
There has been no time frame announced yet for release.
