I think you misunderstand the meaning of EA.

OK lets compare pre orders to EA:
Pre Order: Pay full price to get the game on release
EA: Pay full price and get the game on release with the option to play now (in a unfinished state) and give feedback to the developers.

If you still think EA Versions should be cheaper, then just wait 2 years and buy it on sale.

Just my opinion, but it's worth it here to support this developer. The Original DOS is one of the best RPGs ever created. I'm really looking foward to this release. I played a few hours but waiting for the full release.

While that's true, $44.95 is what we'd pay for a finished product, with a fully developed world. That's NOT what early access is. In fact, what these folks are doing is charging near full price for admission into their testing phase.

...and that is bogus, no matter who good your previous titles were (which, imho, they were!). But still...I'm with the anonymous user....C'mon!

If you do not want to pay full price for an Early Access game, then do not buy it. Feel free to wait until the game is released, the price will not increase.

It's not complicated.

If you only want to moan and fdawg about how you hate the existence of Early Access games in general, don't. No one cares.

Like it's already been said, early access is a way for people who trust the game series/dev to play the unfinished game and in turn be able to help the devs polish the game by acting as a form of beta tester. Since the company has a good recent track record and is so transparent with it's customers, plenty considered it worth it and some did it just to be able to help them with feedback. Early access is ALWAYS a calculated risk on the part of customers.

Early access is not a demo, early access is not free to play, early access is not a discount product for the cheap end of the market... and after playing Mass Effect Andromeda, release games do not mean a quality finished product... ME:A needed Q&A a lot of Q&A. Support the devs of DOS 2, give feed back, if that isn't for you, then why ask a loaded question... go and play ME:A for the stellar release quality for twice the money, that Bioware is fast becoming known for.

Is it not? Do you not receive a finished product once it's... well... finished? Do they charge you more once it releases? Do they cut your access to the game?

No?

So what was your point again?

There's no industry standard for early access; some games are discounted during EA, some are not. Personally, I will only buy if discounted, otherwise I'll wait till after release. As always though, success of any pricing strategy depends on what the market will withstand, and for this game it seems there are plenty who are happy to pay full price now for half a game now.

I'm not. And I am in no way interested in playing Act 1 only. And this is why I simply don't buy it. And I'm 100% fine with it.

My gripe is with people who do think if they are not fine with buying something, there is something bad at work.

OK but your gonna pay full price on a pre - Order and wait 6 months to get it with nothing to show for on your day of purches ? thats like ♥♥♥♥♥♥ logic if i ever seen it

Then wait for release. Early Access is not for you and that's fine. I actually really wish the only people purchased EA games were the ones that either want to support the devs or have the time and patience to test buggy unbalanced and incomplete products and provide useful feedback. Rest should either ignore if game does not interested them or wishlist and wait until release if it does.
