Pre Order: Pay full price to get the game on release
EA: Pay full price and get the game on release with the option to play now (in a unfinished state) and give feedback to the developers.
If you still think EA Versions should be cheaper, then just wait 2 years and buy it on sale.
Just my opinion, but it's worth it here to support this developer. The Original DOS is one of the best RPGs ever created. I'm really looking foward to this release. I played a few hours but waiting for the full release.
While that's true, $44.95 is what we'd pay for a finished product, with a fully developed world. That's NOT what early access is. In fact, what these folks are doing is charging near full price for admission into their testing phase.
...and that is bogus, no matter who good your previous titles were (which, imho, they were!). But still...I'm with the anonymous user....C'mon!
It's not complicated.
If you only want to moan and fdawg about how you hate the existence of Early Access games in general, don't. No one cares.
Is it not? Do you not receive a finished product once it's... well... finished? Do they charge you more once it releases? Do they cut your access to the game?
No?
So what was your point again?
There's no industry standard for early access; some games are discounted during EA, some are not. Personally, I will only buy if discounted, otherwise I'll wait till after release. As always though, success of any pricing strategy depends on what the market will withstand, and for this game it seems there are plenty who are happy to pay full price now for half a game now.
I'm not. And I am in no way interested in playing Act 1 only. And this is why I simply don't buy it. And I'm 100% fine with it.
My gripe is with people who do think if they are not fine with buying something, there is something bad at work.
Wow, this is awkward.
Funny you should say that, with your wolfire profile picture and all
