Stuck on the deer room puzzle

No matter what I try, I can't get the water measures to get to 8. Any hints, before I start looking for the walkthrough?

There's a pattern for it. Try going from right to left since you ultimately want to fill up the one on the left.

Actual solution:
6 -> 5,
5 -> 10,
6 -> 5,
10 -> 6
then repeat until you've got it.

Transfer the water from the rightmost 6ml bottle to the middle 5ml bottle, then from the center to the left 10ml bottle. After that, move the remaining 1ml from the 6ml bottle into the 5ml bottle then take the liquid in the 10ml bottle and fill the 6ml bottle. At this point, you should have some excess water in the 10ml bottle. At this point, you can do literally the same thing over again for I believe one and a half times. Once the 10ml bottle has exactly 8ml in it, clicking any of the bottles will take an item labeled "8ml water."
