black screen issue

hi im geting a black screen issue when ever find the murchant room and try to exit it still has music but just a black screen iv restarted the game multiple times aand it loads to the mechant room exit instand black screen nothing so iv reset to a new charactor fine then find a merchant again instant black screen apon leaving the room. i am on windows 10 with a 980ti

Hey! Are you running the latest version of the game? [1.53, you can see it at the bottom of the start screen when you launch the game]
Have you also tried verifying the local game files? Steam is under heavy load right now due to Summer Sales and sometimes the update download files get corrupted.

i do have 1.53 and have varified multiple times i still get the issue so far im on my 4rth charactor and it hasnt happened yet hopefaly it doesnt but the last 3 evry time i find a merchant room with selling 5 items walk out black screen on this toon i have only found 1 merchant room so well see

ok i figired it out its a bug with the sowrdfish when ever i spawn and pick it up or get it from the merchant next room is a black screen
then need a whole new toon cuz toon is broken that point on

Confirming the black screen after picking up the swordfish weapon. I'm all up to date and have verified my files too.
