The Abyss Blocked (Resolved)
Did I miss something somewhere? I reach the lava area in The Abyss, but all I see is a high cliff. I watch someone else's playthrough to see if I forgot anything after all this time and there's a large opening to the rest of the level, but here it's just a solid wall. What opens that up?

There's no button to press anything, it's triggered by standing in the right spot and IIRC it's possible to miss it.

Ah, okay. Thank you.

If you go through the door that is locked by a blue key (the dark area with the pigs) you need to make a few jumps to the opposite side until you reach a tombstone saying San Andreas Fault. No buttons or switches, just stand close to it and the earthquake trigger will happen.

I did see that earthquake, but it didn't open up the final area. I assume there's a second spot somewhere?

That's only the first earthquake, not the one that opens the wall in the lava area... Let me run through the level again and see if I can make a better explanation...

Ok, so I ran through the level and there was no blocking wall, although I do remember running into it in the past. Did you do the shrinking "puzzle"? I believe there's a switch in the shrinker/raising stairs room that you might have missed pressing...

If this doesn't sound familiar you probably missed that room. I guess there's also a possibility you didn't spot the exit from the lava room. It's a "stairway" at the far end of the lava "lake" and a little bit hard to see.

I did visit that room. Several times actually. There were multiple switches, but their only purpose appeared to be raising platforms and stairs to allow me to stand in the path of the shrinker.

If I remember correctly, inside the shrinking puzzle room with the buttons, stand close to the window, it should trigger another earthquake that opens the next lava area.

Then, let yourself be shrunk so you can exit the room.

I'll try that next time I play it.

Got it to work. Must have been like a pixel off or something before.
