Alien Armageddon MOD

i just wanted to recommend to fans of Duke Nukem (or any BUILD game) an extremely in depth MOD i stumbled across and have been playing recently Alien Armageddon, as the title says of course. its main page can be found on ModDB

it has an entire new character based on what a very 90s version of Shelly "Bombshell" (the now hero of Ion Fury) would have been, a totally option RPG style leveling and progression system, new weapons, new enemies, new AI behavior including playing single player with an AI controlled version of the other character, new episodes...honestly its a fantastic sprawling creative effort.

gameplay mods that change so much are of course are not going to appeal to purist fans who crave the most accurate experience as when the game was released, and thats ok, but anyone looking for what Duke Nukem 3D would play like if it was created today in the "Boomer Shooter Boom" we have going on, this is it.

Has there been any newer version? The last I played was the WC Space boss with the super overlord boss in a huge arena with the slimed babes. That was 4.0 I think.

i'm not exactly sure what version you played of course but episode 3 did totally have a boss before the Cycloid Emperor boss making it super challenging (but fun) and retro 3D shooter bosses are always kinda finicky. though there were no slimed babes to rescue, just cheerleaders sadly acting as decoys ha.

what i can say is the mod creator has been specifically responsive and fixed animation issues i was having with certain weapons and is constantly doing improvements. i'm onto the 4th classic episode and plan to do the new episodes created for the mod as well as the 2 supported expansions because its so much fun.

Hmmm, I did completed all 4 classic episodes, expansions (the Caribbean and DC), new episode with the spider (Dr Proton) boss, space gladiators and the latest one I know is attrition, with the super overlord boss. Was wondering if there's a newer version.

And I never bothered to rescue the cocooned babes, I always have spare money to buy upgrades.

i always rescue them since i always wanted to be able to previously, and of course Duke and Shelly are heroes after all. plus if you rescue the babes you don't just get their reward you often spawn in enemies so its even more Nukem' Bux and XP and i can never have enough upgrades ha

You should definitely check out AMC: Squad then if you like Alien Armageddon. A lot of the devs from AA also work on AMC

i actually have! it was in a weird state last i tried though and the HUB world was a little too large to navigate imho. i should give it another shot for sure soon.

its very worth trying though.
