The editor? Use Mapster32 that is included with the Eduke32 sourceport (free). It is what was used to create the new episode.

You need to copy some files to the Mapster32 folder - "duke3d.grp" should be enough I think, but you might also need "palette.dat", "loopup.dat" and "names.h" if it still protests.

I need to get this running on my laptop with Mapster32. I enjoyed DN3D but my favorite thing about it was making my own levels. I spent thousands of hours making levels. I know with the original game I could edit a text document and make it so you can play my levels as a campaign instead of individually, with par times and me choosing the level music.

I'm absolutely loving it, and same as you I enjoyed duke3d but what I 'loved' was making levels. This is a trip to the 90s for me and I'm loving it. HMU if you want to trade levels or maybe work on a episode together

Its more wise to extract eduke32 & mapsterr32 directly to the duke3d game folder.

Should try Ion Fury.
Same engine, but uses EDuke32 enhancements.

building levels was more fun than playing the game - i'm playing one of my own now. had to download it off the net, as they had all gotten lost over the years -
