PC vs PS4 with controller

I've read about the mouse support being poor. I have the Megaton Edition, so if I want to play with mouse and keyboard I'll use a source port. However, if I just want to kick back with a controller, will this offer the same experience as the PS4 version? The sale price is so much cheaper than PSN and PSN STILL doesn't notify you of price drops.

I'd be particularly interested to hear from anyone that has actually played both versions.
