Does the Lear Jet 45 have an auto throttle switch for autopilot?
This thing works differently then FSX.

Does the Learjet have a AT switch somewhere?

What exactly does the speed switch do on auto pilot panel? I assume it's supposed to hold my speed but does not seem to work.

Why does the plane pitch up and down when I spin the IAS knob?

I understand when I switch to VS button below and spin the IAS knob it should change my vertical speed.

Why can't I have the speed and altitude buttons switched on at the same time?

If you set an altitude with the altitude knob and then hit the speed/flc buttons since they both light up whatever speed you have set with IAS knob, the plane will pitch for that speed. I usually set it around 200kts for the initial climb. If you are below 200kts when you hit the speed button the plane will pitch down to gain speed and pitch up if you are above 200kts. Once you are stable you can control your vertical speed or how fast you climb by using the throttles. Planes without autothrottle use this feature as far as I know.

I see so the plane does not have auto throttle. I assume this was maybe a mistake by the FSX team for the default Learjet 45. As in FSX it did have auto thottle. Playing around with other aircraft I cam see this works fine. Just not for the Learjet.

From what I can find online the learjet 45 when first unveiled did not have an auto throttle. If the system was ever added I'm not sure. Alot of hight performance smaller aircraft have the FLC setting in the autopilot so the aircraft can hold a set speed while in climb or descent while the pilot manages the throttles.
