A Game About Making Ships

Hello everyone, I’m solo developer Tomas Sala and here is my new game, Shipshaper!

It’s a small, explorative ship builder I made for the simple pleasure of shaping boats and ships. You pull, push, and drag forms into place in order to… well, shape ships!

I’ve got a video here that shows you how everything works if you want a little guidance, or simply want to see how it all works before trying yourself!

ShipShaper will be receiving regular updates based on your feedback – my game development is very open and transparent (those of you who followed me along my Bulwark development journey will know what to expect), so please don’t be afraid to give this a try and let me know what you think!

The build currently live is ShipShaper in its rawest basic form – and features such as the model exporting are not enabled (but will be when the full game launches), I can’t wait to see your creations, hear your thoughts and suggestions and see exactly what ShipShaper looks like by the end of the month!

so...do we get a menu?

love the concept, really i do. i am already dreaming of an armada of steam punk Tumblehome warships... but..... Are like.. we going to get a way to do things like... Save our designs? I just lost 20min of slowly crafting a ship, tried to find a menu... hit ESC cause i figured that might bring UP a menu... and found out ES, just quites the program.... sooooooo...............

I literally need this

So even though I've got like 500 hours in Blender now and am familiar with using proportional editing, boat modeling has continued to elude me... until now. WOW this is intuitive! And convenient! And like exactly what I've been looking for. Demo runs great and I'm excited for the FBX exporter! Out of curiosity, how deep are you going with the texture styles, IE will we be getting more piratey/wooden styles in the future, possibly even with a color picker for paint trims, or sticking with the metal themes?...
