what are the odds of finding a gold slime?

i was just wondering since its been awhile since iv'e found one but i have found 2 and i failed to catch them :):

According to the Slime rancher wiki they spawn "extremely rarely" in certain spots. The wiki has a map for the spots.
You can shoot any food item and plorts at them to get them to drop gold plorts, so you don't need to be like me at first, always having a ton of carrots taking up an inventory slot. XD

The wiki lacks an exact chance as it varies by node - and the map will make it clear why we haven't bothered to list it out per node. On average though its roughly 1 in 200 slimes.

You cannot even catch them. You only can get a gold plort. You can get three with golden sureshot vac pack uprade (from 7zee club).

i know you cant suck them up but ive made the mistake of not having food on me when i find a goldie lol

and it seems like 1 plort is not worth it for just 300 i could get more just by some crystal plorts

when starting out, 500 is a great boost. In phase where you have 20-30+ days spent in-game they start to be more and more useless.

I have 340 gold plorts in stock. I won´t sell them because they are useless to sell, but are really rare.

im 70 days in my save. Gold plorts have almost no money value by that point. I just need to sell 6 saber plorts and there we go.

Golds start to get value again with some set up tbh. Later game if you know what you are doing and have the tools you can get a couple hundred gold plorts every 2 in game days. That 300-600 price per becomes alot more valuable when you actually have it in bulk.

And that's before factoring in a bug that currently exists.
