No kookadoba mud balls?
I first beat this game back in 2018/19, started playing again on account of Slime Rancher 2's release. Has the spawn rate for the kookadoba mud balls dropped or something? I'm at 38/120 for the 2nd of Ogden's upgrades. I remember them being a lot more common, and I have not seen a single one so far. I coulda sworn there was at least some that were fixed spawns. Where'd they all go? Am I just unlucky?

Mud balls are glitched, they never spawn :(

Mudballs are the ball that you shoot into them mouth-totems to open, yeah?

I have never found a single ball after the very first playthrough(2010s vs 2020s), same with pink ribbon boxes/other surprises. It's as if the game only has a single spawn of objects spawning.

Either the game has a very disappointing cache system, or things definitely got changed/altered/removed over the years.

I am pretty sure their spawn condition machanism is glitched.

Well, just found my first mudball. It seems like you have to do a MANUAL rest; not the automatic rest when you get knocked out.

edit: Wound up finding 4 or 5 mudballs, finished a tour of the wilds with a total of 49 kookadobas.

What would a "manual rest" be?, i spent almost two (in game) weeks wandering in the wild and i have not found a single mudball yet.

It means to go into the ranch house and select the option to Sleep Until Morning

So, i need to exit the wild, go to sleep and then go back?, i have done that before, still the same issue.
I have been to the wilds a couple of times, and have slept several times since I was first there. I have never seen a mudball in my game.

So I've been to the Wilds several times and regularly use the sleep until morning option without seeing a single mudball. Well I FINALLY got some mudballs to spawn after turning in hundreds of kookadobas. What finally worked was after loading my game, going to the Wilds (no mudballs) returning to my ranch, sleeping until morning, then returning to the Wilds WITHOUT exiting my game or letting another in game day pass. I don't know if I just got lucky this time, but I'm glad it finally worked.

This worked for me. Thanks! I forgot to reset my game once using this method otherwise and it still worked so that part might not be necessary.
