How many hours of entertainment in its current state?
I realize there's more to a game than how long it is, but I'm noticing most of the Steam reviewers have only played the game for 4-8 hours. That concerns me. Does the game really only provide 4-8 hours of entertainment in its current state, or were those reviews written mid-game?

I have about 10 hours in the game and plan on spending at least double that until next update. But it might be best to wait for a few new updates to buy. Its definitely a great game, but it isnt complete yet. I have every plantation filled currently and have 20,000+ money that i cant really do anything with xD

Depends what you say is worth your entertainment tbh. Running through the game in it's content currently will take anywhere from 6-10 hours. You can do little challenges to yourself if you enjoy though. A few that can be fun or difficult:

1) Only Gardens in Ranch, Plorts/Money come from the Range.

2) No Gardens in Ranch, have fun chasing down those Veggies and Fruits.

3) Limit yourself to No Largos or none of a certain slime.

4) This one to me has been the most fun, only allow yourself the initial space for Ranch. A limiting amount of 8 plots to do everything you need.

Overall the game is more about little challenges you make rather then game length. It will be a TON of fun a little later on when we get to probably about patch 0.4 or 0.5. By ton of Fun, I mean a LOT more to do.

It's an 8 hour game right now.
I feel like I've pretty much maxed out at 6, could probably mess around with some variations for 8 but absolutely love it and can't wait for more updates.

I say It's 5 hours game right now.
5 Hours full of "Awww" and "Soooo cutee!"

I got 20 hours on record, but I've streached 100% of the normal games content.

100 of every fruit/veg in storage, 100 of all hen types/rooster.
100 of each plort in storage (minus the gold plort's, got 10 of those)
10 of each slime in their own pits in the main area.
Done every achievement currently passable (36/40 I believe)

100k gold left over, all upgrades done.
Looked around the map fully (even in areas not out yet, such as the ruins and desert, even tried to get into the coral but there's no way in that I could find on various attempts)

But I mean, it was fun I set myself a goal and completed that, it wasn't boring even for a moment as it's the type of game you can switch off with whilst playing.

*Can't wait for the updates*

About 6.
Still more than twice the amount of content of your average $60 modern first-person shooter's single player campaign. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zXDo4dL7SU

Uuuuhhhhh shots fired. Pun intended.

I've completely conquered the existing content in about six hours. I think this is pretty normal, though some people just love messing around in the world endlessly.

I'm having trouble understanding how people are spending so long on the game. I think it's a great game, but I feel like I've done everything in it in about 2 hours? I have a pen of honey/fire largos that produce more money than I can possibly spend and there's nothing left to explore. Am I missing something?
Ork Goku Feb 2, 2016 @ 4:03pm
I don't think you're missing anything, it just takes most people longer to experiment with and grasp all the game's systems and unlock the Mossy Blanket, even though if you know what you're doing ahead of time you can easily beeline to it. (For an example of people just not getting it, watch the Game Grumps playthrough.)

I've completed everything (except the most grueling and pointlessly grindy) of achievements in 5 hours. have all the capturable slimes, bought all the upgrades, upgraded every plot on the farm to full strength.

It's kinda fun, but sadly very short. Couldn't mix slimes like I wanted, hoping to get soemthing unique from mixing a boom slime and a pond slime, but they won't/cant eat each other's plorts.

All largos are naturally viewable in the wild sadly as well.
