3 corrals with Boom Phosphor Slimes (10ish per).
If you launch Slime Rancher on Safe Mode (it forced the game to starts using low graphics) it won't, at least I am not having the issue while using Safe Mode.
This is the general rule of thumb I use as well. You can probably get away with a few more if they're pure bred pink or honey slimes as they don't tend to be as prone to escape attempts like tabbies and aren't as rowdy and bouncy as booms and rocks, don't know about phosphor slimes as I've never felt much reason to bother with them seeing as they're no more valuable than rock slimes, are harder to take care of, and by the time I have access to the grotto where I wouldn't need to bother with the special upgrade they need I'd rather just fill it with honey booms instead.
I haven't tried any large-scale small slime ranching, but going by the size alone, I feel like I could get away with 35, perhaps 40.
I only ranch largos now, and the only ones I can't have 10 or more of are boom hybrids. :( I hate those booms.
