Largos, when fed, will create one of each plort that their component slimes would create, so a pink tabby would give both a pink and tabby plort, and if fed the favourite food of either slime will instead produce two of each plort, for a total of four, which means five largos can produce just as many plorts as ten purebred slimes.
They can also make it much easier to deal with carnivorous slimes, currently tabbies and boom slimes, by combining them with honey slimes or other slimes that eat fruits and vegetables, since a single garden plot can easily outproduce even multiple chicken coops.
My disorganization / newbieness led to an infestation of Tarr/ Rainbows just now, but that was OK as I wanted to rebuild the farm from ground up anyway. I picked them up by turn and just pitched them into the sea behind the farmhouse. I suppose this could be the easiest way to dispose of any unwanted slimes!
For instance, during a regular in-game day, my Crystals will have created around 50 to 60 plorts, but around a quarter of them are starving, and due to the auto-feeder being set on fast to compensate, it's often empty. Meanwhile, my 8 Boom-Rads only make around 20 of each, resulting in only two thirds of the Crystals' production. However, even setting the auto-feeder to low, there's always one or two uneaten Oca-Ocas, and they're always full.
