Should I make a bunch of novice drills or should I wait to make advanced drills?

Novice drills are cheaper, and for some parts of the alime science side of things you will want quantity over quality. For general respurce gathering an advanced is preferable, but until you get the treasure crackers available for purchase novice extractors tend to be preferable.

It depends on what you have and what you need:
Slime fossils I would get advanced drills for, but simply jellystone I would probably stick with novice drills. HOWEVER, It can still be worth getting advanced drills since it's double the reasorces but triple the rewards + Higher chance of rares

i'm just going to note that due to the increase in resources extracted from novice to advanced, advanced still statistically gets more jelly stone than a novice in any particular zone provided a fair comparison of loot tables (so not comparing a novice in the dry reef to an advanced in the ruins. but a novice in the dry reef to an advanced in the dry reef.)

in the end unless you want quantity over quality, advanced beats out novice. if going for the 50 gadgets for t3 treasure cracker, the fact the novice is cheaper makes quantity easier with it, and it ties for the 3 cheapest items in the game for this process.
