There is a multiplayer mod, it is very well done but it is bugged as you see your friend / the other character

Sorry if this is necro and you already solved this but the SRMP (Slime Rancher Multiplayer) has a discord server where you can download the mod (its the SRMP standalone). Just drag the mod to your install location and extract and Yes to replace files. Do it with your friend(s) too and have someone host the game. If you use discord, you can join from your friends discord popout and if not, join with a code. Thats literally it. Me and my brother just beat the game in like 4 hours today with it and had not a single issue.
