Do "rarer" fruit, veggies or meats give more reward?

Curious if there is a difference between carrots and heartbeats...rock hens vs regular hens...and etc.There doesn't seem to be too much motivation to use less producing farms if there is not some benefit to using them.

No the slimes favourite food will give the double amount of plort when feed you can check the favourites in the slimeapeder (spelling)

Well, kind of yes, since the common pogo fruits, hen-hens, and carrots aren't the favourite foods of anything, so heart beets will give more plorts if fed to rock slimes, stony hens will give more if fed to tabbies, etc.
