Which is what I do, mostly because I consider pink tabbies to be the cutest things ever, it's just that as it stands right now the game gives you very little reason to ever bother with more than a few specific largos, especially honey booms. You can get to the moss blanket easily by day two just by collecting pogo fruits from the wild to give to the pink gordo, grab some mint mangos, honey slimes, and either boom slimes or plorts, and you've got everything you need to start cranking out all the cash you could ever need, if you want you can even grab some puddle slimes to have all three of the most valuable plorts you can get without hunting for gold slimes.
I can get into the Moss Blanket on day one by jumping over the wall with the lvl 1 jet pack. you don't need to feed the largo's anything, and don't need the keys at all.
No matter which approach you take the point still stands that you can just skip straight to honey slimes which are far easier to feed than tabbies, easier to house than phosphors, and less hazardous than rock slimes yet are still worth more than any of them.
