Gold plort disappointment.
As soon as I ended up with gold plorts I wanted to make maneki neko slimes. I was deeply disappointed to discover that I could not use the gold plorts to make hybrid slimes.

:steamsad:

Any hope for gold hybrids in the future? Maybe a type of corral that only holds one gold slime hybrid, or some other specially restricted way. Or maybe they don't produce gold plorts, just two of whatever the hybrid type is. I'd be super down for that.

Maneki neko slimes? da ♥♥♥ is dat? and No Gold slimes are exreamly valuable if they touch anything that isn't food they will dissapear. when you see one shoot a food item at it, it'll still vanish but it'll leave you a gold plort. thats THE ONLY way of obtaining Gold Plorts. otherwise you'd have Billions of credits and nothing to spend it on if you could capture them. Thats why there plorts are so valuable to begin with.

Yeah, I figured out how the gold slime /actually/ works. What I want is a maneki neko. The maneki neko is a Japanese good luck charm. You might be more familiar with it simply as the "lucky cat". It's typically depicted a a waving cat, and often made of gold (or a gold colored material anyway).

Here, have some wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maneki-neko

Or the plort rate was like... one every other day.

If the Golden Slime was capturable it'd have to not be able to produce Plorts, or have an extremely low Plorting chance. Maybe even have it so the gold slime follows you around as a pet in the Ranch?

I dont know why you all talk about the golden slime, like it is some mythic op dragon o0

In my 10h of playtime, I have found 2 of them. Even if I captured them, they would make not even 1% of my money production.

In their current state, golden slimes are a useless amusement to me. If I find one, I dont even bother interacting with it. They are simply useless. They may be op in the early game, but in endgame, even if captured, they would be nearly irrelevant.

They aren't meant to be suprr fantastic and amazing. Its meant to be more of a little bonus, this single plort that you found while exploring is worth 10x any other, and you did little to no work for it.

That's the point. Why do you think gold plorts are worth 200+ coins? It would just be unfair and OP if you could capture them. You would get money too fast too much, you would just spoil yourself.
