Moving save files from one account to the other
I need help. I wouldn't say I am the best with technology, so this might just be a skill issue on my part. But I have been wanting to play slime rancher's again on my own account. Since all my progress is on my sister's steam account, I tried searching up ways to do it, and just cannot figure it out. Please tell me there is a way to transfer files from one account to the other!! (I tried downloading the steam cloud files, putting it into a folder, making it into a zip folder and sending it to myself on email. Then I browsed the local files of slime rancher, put the folder into the slime rancher area, and then go into the game. And them it tells me there are no saved games :,)
Please I am begging I need help with this. I am summoning all the smart techy people to help me (if you are a comp sci major even better. Please I beg go easy with the terms TT)

Did you move the save files (.sav) between systems from the folders in the following location:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Monomi Park\Slime Rancher

Obviously, replace [username] with your user folder on each system. Also, Steam's cloud may try to set it to what the folder was before that folder was manually changed by you. If this happens it will be obvious, as you will go back to the folder and the save files will have been deleted by Steam.

I would say between systems?? I just went on my sister's laptop, went on her steam cloud, and downloaded all the save files individually before sending it to myself through zip file. Also, I am so dumb that that's the problem, I do not know where that path is
and I now just found it :skull: sometimes I wonder how I am even aloud to use my laptop :,) thank you so much!! let me try it, and then hope it works

I will let you know if it doesn't o7

If this happens it will be obvious, as you will go back to the folder and thealso wait what does that mean, with the whole steam cloud changing it to was it was before the folder was changed by me? Like before I turned the folder I made into a zip folder so I could actually send it by email to myself?

Other then that I can't imagine what you mean sadly. Ohh where do I go to see that the save files were deleted by steam? rn this is what it shows me. And this is what I did
WAIT, how do I show a screenshot I took?

If they are deleted, they just won't be in the folder you had put them in. If they are still in that folder, then it's probably a different problem. If they are gone though, you probably want to just disable Steam's Cloud for Slime Rancher and then try again.

You can disable it by going to Slime Rancher in your Steam Library > right clicking on it and selecting Properties > click on the option for STEAM CLOUD to gray it out/uncheck it.

ohh I see I see, I believe they aren't deleted since they are showing in my file explorer in the folder I made for the save files I downloaded from my sister's steam cloud. It seems to be a different problem, since they are still in the folder and it seems putting the save files into the path you showed me isn't working.

Here, we have a guide for finding log files and your saves should be in the same place as that. Hopefully that helps:

Let me know how that goes!

It worked!! you are quite literally a godsent to this world, and that was so much easier then everything I researched had led it up to be....
I was wondering, this doesn't have to be resolved if you can't do so. But about the achievements, would I have to re-do it to get the ones I already got?

Yay; I'm glad I could help! But yes, for the achievement I beleive you will need to redo those. Some should auto complete, and then for others you might want to make a new game and then run through the bare minimum to get to the end.
