Now you can set different goals for yourself, as motivation. For example:
Have you earned 1 million new bucks yet?
Have you found all the treasure pods?
Have you earned all of the Steam achievements?
Have you bought up all of the 7Zee Rewards Club goodies yet?
Did you unlock Mochi’s Manor & Ogden’s retreat?
Have you captured a Golden Gordo and found a Gilded Ginger yet?
Did you find and pop all the Gordos scattered around the Far,Far Range.
Did you find a Party Gordo yet, and have you collected all the ornaments?
Is your farm full of well stocked silos, and do you have every slime available corralled on your farm?
These are all goals that you could set out to accomplish, and I suppose once you did so, the game could be considered done. But there won’t be any kind of screen that pops up and says “Congratulations, you have won the game!”
The developers are still adding to the game, so who knows what areas or slimes might still be left to explore or find someday. Just keep playing it for as long as you are enjoying it, and when it stops being fun then I guess that's when you are done.
I made sure to read their latest email before I went into the warp temple.
However, nothing happened once I went inside. I just walked in, read a note, then left feeling disappointment that all my exploring and overcoming challenges resulted in little.
I know this is one of THOSE games where there isn't and ending persay, but there is an achivement for beating adventure mode, and while I'm not really one of those achivement hunters who cares about nothing more than getting achivements, I still wanna try and beat the game, a hurdle not too many players ever reach.
Maybe it is time based?

“ And even though that light we see, ain't the same for you and me. Oh well you'll know when I know, that you and I can even be a thousand light years away. And I'd still love you. Oh, yes I do. I love you. ”

"I bought a cactus from you, sort of."
Casey is the special someone of Beatrix back on Earth who will occasionally send letters to her via StarMail during the course of Adventure Mode, revealing some background information about Beatrix, Casey, and their relationship. Their gender is intentionally ambiguous.[1]

As I mentioned in the OP, 47 days.
My most recent email was from Casey implying that they wish they told me they loved me before I left, but not really mentioning it. I read that one before I read the final message from the past owner of the farm.
