Tips: WATCH OUT Slimes can be smart!
In an older game of Slime Rancher, when I was more new to it than I am now. (I'm not trying to say I know all of Slime Rancher, but I'm smarter about it than I was in the beginning). That in that old game, it was so long ago, but I think I remember what happened. I'm making this journal for a tip and a warning about the slimes. I think they are either observent or they can be smart. It was in the main area I had maybe 4 corrals of largo slimes and two silos that held extra foods near my house. One day, I think I forgot to feed my slimes or something happened. My slime largos escaped! I was surprised! One of them made it over to a food silo & managed to get the food out of it! That pink ate the food it got out of the silo.

I had cleaned up that mess. But it was an old save, so I eventually deleted it and replaced it. So please heed that warning! If you don't keep your slimes well fed, they'll escape and go for a silo that you're storing extra food in. I'm trying to be a friend with this tip journal. I thought it'd be a good warning for all the newer slime ranchers out there. I don't know if my slimes had watched me store food in that silo or if they could like sense or smell the food from the silo. But that was very smart of that pink largo. I was very surprised when I found it eating the content from the silo. And I knew it was from the silo cause I had watched it take the food from the silo.

I don't know if that was fixed, or slimes can't do that anymore. I've been doing pretty well with my slimes now. No escapes, no stealing from the food silos. It's been good so far.

huh i've never come across this. though i've always kept my silos in remote areas just to keep them close to the resources i was storing in them, and i'd like to think an escaped hungry slime would most likely go after available food out in the open before trying to snag some from a silo.

Honestly I can't remember how that slime did it. But it did. Most of my gardens die pretty fast even if they are maxed out. So I store my extra food in silos around the ranch, so I can have easy access when I need to feed my slimes. I never thought of putting all silos in one area tho. My current game is going well, no escaping hungry slimes any more :D

well i don't have too many silos- one slot for each favorite food is plenty and leave an extra slot for gold plorts. and if you decide to hoard plorts, it's a lot faster to have 4 seperate types in each silo instead of a single silo for each type. for my current layout, i have the 4 main crops in the grotto with a single silo, and the 3 chickens in the overgrowth with a silo for them. then the main area is solely slimes.

Nice :D I have 5 total silos. They are all for food. I keep my slimes' favorites in silos and there's one silo pocket for golden plorts. I had one silo in the grotto, 3 silos in the main ranch, two by the house & one to the right of the Overgrowth entrance, and the final silo is in the back of the Overgrowth. I had two "active" gardens. One is the left plot when you enter the grotto & the other garden is next to my house. Then there's 3 coops in the Overgrowth. I might have messed that up, I can't remember where all the things are on my ranch from just my memory. :p But if you like I can take some screen shots of my ranch so you can see where I set everything up :D
