tangle slimes

I could use some help, I can't find a tangle slime.

I popped the gordo on my first visit to the desert but had all my slots filled so I didn't capture any of the tangle slimes that appeared, I figured I'd get some next trip.

I have been back at least half a dozen times, opened both slime doors but still can't find a tangle anywhere is there a trick to getting one to spawn? or am I missing a section where they appear?

There are some special ponds with special water. Use that to do special things in the desert. :D

There are fountains hidden all over the Glass Desert. If you find one, you can vac the water there to get Ancient Water. You then spray that over any of the plant bulbs you find on the ground. The Ancient Water has a timer on it; you need to spray it before the timer runs out, then it turns into normal water.

Thanks Maomag, but I can't vac the water up, I'm at the fountain on the right as you descend the stairs from the portal.
I tried with water in the tank and with it empty I can't vac any water from the fountain.

Just to clariffy, the fountains look like this:

And, oh, I forgot to mention that you need to shoot plorts into some stone statues' mouths in order to activate the fountains. Completely forgot about that part. So, you will need 3 Rock plorts, 3 Tangle plorts, 3 Dervish plorts and 3 Mosaic plorts. The statues are located in various locations all over the place but geerally within a reasonably close distance from the fountains they activate.

I don't have any tangle plorts, I've tried with rock and dervish plorts but nothing takes.
I haven't run across any mosaic slimes, what else should I try?

You don't need Tangle plorts. Activate one of the other fountains with the other plorts and revive atleast one of the oases nearby to get Tangle slimes and more Tangle plorts.

EDIT: You need to put three of each type of plort into their respective statues. Each statue only takes one plort type. There are 12 statues, 3 of them take Tangle plorts, 3 of them take Rock plorts, 3 of them take Dervish plorts, and 3 of them take Mosaic plorts. Keep hitting any statues you find with each plort type until it takes a plort.

Thank you Maomag, a different fountain was all it took, the rock plorts worked and I got the ancient water, started revitalizing the plant bulbs and got a mosaic and tangle slime.

if you need a specific type of any slime in the future, might consider obtaining and crafting Master Gordo snares and putting that slime's favourite food as the bait.
