Invalid save file? (FIX FOUND)
I play for 30 seconds and it crashes? anyone know a fix.

EDIT: 10/27/16

It looks like the game does not have permission to read/write to the save files as expect. This usually happens when Steam launched using the "Run as Administrator" and switches the file permissions. Here's a method to reset the file permissions and fetch the most recent versions from the Steam Cloud.

1) Exit Steam.
2) Open Run from the Start Menu
3) Type "%appdata%/../LocalLow/" without the quotes and press Enter
4) In the new file browser window that opens there should be a folder called "Monomi Park"
5) Copy the "Monomi Park" to an easily found location. This is a just-in-case copy.
6) Delete the original "Monomi Park" folder
7) Launch Steam normally, it should re-download all your game saves shortly after starting
8) Try playing Slime Rancher normally.

If that method doesn't work then then you will have to give up your old save file.

1. Disable steam cloud sync.
2. Uninstall slime rancher then quit steam
3. Re-do the steps above.
4. Run steam and re-install slime rancher.

I know this is an old ass discussion but I found that if you do this
"1. Disable steam cloud sync.
2. Uninstall slime rancher then quit steam
3. Re-do the steps above.
4. Run steam and re-install slime rancher."
But enable cloud sync again before starting the game after doing these steps, you can keep your save while also fixing the issue.

If you can you should give us here these crash reports you should get. It'll help a lot more for us to understand the problem.

Its not much of a crash report it just says save file name invalid, and gives me the choice of choosing rety or quit. retry never does annything

That's weird, I haven't seen that before.
It's possibly a problem with your folder that holds save files.
You should contact with the devs at support@monomipark.com . I'm sure they'll know more about the problem and help you with it.

Was there ever a follow up on this? I'm having the same problem, whether it's saved to my D drive or C drive. It occurs in both.

Same here. Not only a saved game becomes unloadable everytime I start the game. Even my game settings get lost. Netither repairing game files nor completely reinstalling fixed the issue.
So far haven't gotten any replies from my post on the technical help in the monomi park forums and reddit has yet to divulge any meaningful information. will post here as soon as i get a fix

Have you tried sending your mail again to the support mail of devs?
