So just make sure they are constantly surrounded by food whenever they need it.
even before adding the toy, i've had barely any of my quantum largos escape, but it might be good to have one just in case.
To feed them I planted a couple of phase lemon trees there.
I used some pink slimes to turn them into largos 'cause I knew I wouldn't be moving them again. Plus extra plorts are always good and I always need pink slimes for crafting.
Used my extra plots to host ponds that I stocked with puddle slimes.
Bought them a couple of toys to help keep them near the trees.
Popped down a market and refinery link.
Put down two drones to harvest the plorts from freerange and from ponds. Depending on if I need quantum plorts in the refinery or to sell I set the drones to dumping the plorts in either. You could also use one of the plots to host a silo instead of a pond and have the drones deposit there for you to decide exactly how many go where.
I show up occasionally to splash water on the drones. They can't use the teleporter so there is 0 risk of them escaping. Plus it's fun to come in and see them happily teleporting around.
personally i dont see the point in trying to keep them caged because none of those things, the toys, music, what have you, helped me in keeping them in cages. I haven't had a single one escape from the grotto yet
