Largos vs normal slimes
Everytime I'm on my ranch and I look at my slimes I think "do I really need largo slimes?", I can't decide. I had Pink Tabby Largos and it helps with space on the ranch (I don't need pink slimes in other coral and tabbys in other) but I can't have much of them because they can break out. Maybe there are some largos that are good to have? (Like Quantum Dervish Largos, 100% no joke)

Keep 4 largos for corral. its a safe and balanced number. 5 works as long as you dont mind feeding a 5th largo. Largos favor the food of both slimes i.e tabby/rock largoes favor both stoney hens and heart beets. Use that to your advantage since you can nullify how hard it is to get the favorite foods of certain slimes by largoing them up with another one. Do NOT largo slimes up with pink slimes. Pink largos favor no food except the food of the other slime, meaning that the only food a pink/crystal largo would favor are Odd Onions.

Numbers are just in favour of the largos, although pures can just get greater quantities

Largos can make it easier to feed certain slimes. Like tabby slimes only eat meat and breeding chickens takes longer than growing fruits and veggies. As Edward pointed out, don't put too many largos in your corral. I found this out the hard way because I once put too many and only a few of them were getting their satisfaction of food.

I would suggest 4 - 6 per corral, and no matter what two different slimes they combine with giving them their favourite food satisfies them much more than say just veggies in general.

Also do not under any circumstances, (I'm sure you know this already) but don't introduce a third different individual slime to your corral unless you want a tarr outbreak! I'm pretty sure you don't.

I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing to do, but I see your point in terms of having two different favourite foods to choose from for largos. Given that, I am guilty of largo-ing up my rock and tabbies to big pink ones but I have heart beets growing nearby. I just need to find me some stony hens. It's not difficult. :slimehappy: but everything else is combined like rad/honey, rock/boom, and crystal/quantum on my ranch.

Hmm okay, thank you, now I know that I need some largos in my ranch (I'm always having problems with meat)

Only real reason to not have Largos is to avoid Tarr. There are strats to grow a ton of favorite food for pures but that just wastes the potential for feading rarer slimes with it.

i like largo slime because you can feed them two different types of of food and they give you two plort instead of just one.

Okay so I got largos now, but I wonder now what can I do with left ranch plots, more gardens? More slimes? Or just leave them and wait for more slimes or something?

In the early game largos are useful for numerous mentioned reasons. Later, once you've unlocked all areas, there isn't any need for them except asthetics or control. I only have quantum/phosper and rock/sabre largos. This prevennts the quantums from phasing out of the shaded cage. Unlocking Ogden's and Mochi's areas reduces the need for largos further. My spouse has no largos and avoids them. it is mostly a matter of choice in the later game.

Waaaaiiit, really? So they can't escape because the phosphor slimes are sensitive to light yes? If yes then it's a perfect choice for me :0

Why do people collect Pink slime mixes? they are super common just outside the ranch. You want useless pink plorts just go for a walk round, you'll fill your tank in minutes, less even if you have a few carrots. why waste a corral for pinks? when you could fill them with rock crystal (geode) slimes or tabby hunter slimes or explosive dervish slimes ect.

I have pink slimes in my ranch because it's just easier to feed them and collect the plorts

I literally only have largos. They're so useful, and I find if you feed them their favorite food (can be the favorite of either of the two slimes they are) they give you four plorts. Very helpful, would totally recommend :)

I only had largos because I wanted to get to the 28th reward on the Zzee club, and at the same time to farm some plorts to put into the refinery to fill it up completely. I had Tabby/Rock, Boom/Honey, Phosphor/Crystal, Rad/Hunter, Quantum/Dervish and Puddle on the main zone and Mosaic/Tangle and Fire on Lab. I grew the food on the overgrowth and the left spaces on the Lab, leaving the Docks free because they are too far away for me to run there, and the grotto filled with silos. With Ogden's expansion, I got Rad/Saber, because I am free ranging Hunters now, and with the silo expansion I do not need that much silos now.

I would tell you to have the largoes and their food in the plot in front of them for an easy distribution, and remember, if you pick a largo to be near tangles, be sure their food is not the same category or you may encounter unhappy slimes. Also, don't. Tangles should be near Fire/Puddle slimes as they can not cause tarr outbreaks.

A fine distribution should be:

-Main zone: Phosphor/Crystal-Cuberry, Tabby/Rock-Beets, up in the main zone Boom/Honey-Mangoes, left of the house Quantum/Hunter-Lemon

-Lab: Tangle/Mosaic-Parnsip, Fire-Random fruit, Puddle

-Grotto or Overgrowth: Rad/Saber-Oca Oca, Pink/Dervish-Pears. You can mix Quantum with Hunters and Pinks with Dervish as now it is easier to farm the lemons, and get the rest of the plots to do whatever you want.

I am just telling what I did for an efficient plot collection, but you can forget about largoes with the new expansion. Just play like you want, because that would be your best way of playing this game and funnier to you, and whatever I say is not the only way to play this game. Have fun ranching!
