normally speaking - slow feeds 3-4, medium 6, and fast 12. if catch up is bugging out in a certain fashion the numbers are slow = 5, medium = 8 and fast = 16
If catch up is bugging out? What do you mean? Whats catch up?
Also are you saying i should just add two more largos in and keep it on fast?
Catch up is part of the code meant to allow the ranch to act as if its running while you are away - even when it technically isn't. Buggiest part of the code and a number of bugs are known to randomly occur which can change factors here.
Well the SMART idea would be having 12 slimes with the fast setting, right?
Going into the pens to get the extra food is a bit of a pain though especially on the more damage happy slimes. Crystals, rocks, booms, hunters, and rad slimes can get a bit harrowing. Especially if the largos start gumming up your vac pack.
The problems I have is that if you over stuff your pens with largos, you sometimes see food on the ground, and a bunch of hungry slimes on the other side of the pen. So I tend to stick to medium speed and 8 largos for the most automated experience.
You will always have to keep an eye on your slimes though, the auto feeders are... not perfect. The amount of variability in their deployment, and how much food they send out and when can lead to a medium speed overfeeding 10 slimes, while a fast is underfeeding 8.
And that is before you add in trying to sleep through the night and the like. That screws with the simulation even more because of the errors it has. Generally, it's good enough for a single day if you screw up and fall in the sea or something, but if that happens, you definitely have to check your ranch for escapees.
