Slime Rancher
Game crashes all the time
When I'm ingame it freezes between 10 seconds and 2 minutes. Then it crashes.
I tried reperation mode from steam, reinstalling, new game / old game, nothing helps.
I lowered the grafiks, didnt help.
I played with controller / with the keyboard, didnt change anything.

CPU: Intel Core i5 6400

My game consistently crashes from this latest update and the previous one. Never has it happened a few months ago when I played the game.
If we could get more information on this, we could try to help. Knowing when it crashes gives us an idea on what functions may be causing it. Computer specs can give information regarding if it might be your system sturggling and being more on your hardware than the game. Crash logs can provide even further insight into this.

Way more than enough for Slime Rancher. My system is MOST DEFINITELY NOT struggling.

Windows 10, 64 bit.
Intel Core i5 4670K, 3.40GHz (Running at 30 C on standby)
16 GB DDR3 799MHz RAM (25 - 35 C on standby)
GIGABYTE G1 Sniper Z97 (20 - 30 C on standby)
GeForce GTX 970

Would still be useful to get your crash logs and at least an idea on when during gameplay crashes are occuring.

Local Disk (C:) > Users> your name> AppData> LocalLow> Monomi Park> Slime Rancher should have the player.log file. the crash log should be in C:/Users/(your user here)/AppData/Local/Temp/Monomi Park/Slime Rancher/Crashes

Both would be of some assistance.

Hello!

I'm so sorry for how late this response is! We've been having reports of this coming into support and I wanted to share what info I have thus far.

In the majority of cases reported we are seeing a lot of memory leak warnings, and when we check the DxDiag information we are seeing like problems with other apps and games. There are a few things that seem to help.

Do a full virus scan.
Make sure you have the most recent drivers; also it can be a good idea to do full reinstalls of your drivers in case any are corrupt.
Uninstall software you don't use anymore to help cut down on background potential background processes and conflicts.
Open Task Manager and disable start up apps you don't actually need running on start up (in the Startup tab)
In the game's options enabling VSync and turning off shadows seems to help some people as well.

If you still have problems, please reach out to us at support@monomipark.com

I hope that helps!

I have a computer that doesn't even technically meet the minimum system requirements. The game has never truly crashed for me in 60+ hours of play, but the initial load involves a few minutes of unresponsiveness and overheating has managed to cut the power a few times. As such, I can say that having a bad computer cannot be the source of the issue.
I have emailed the Slime Rancher team about our problems and they should get back to me soon. Will keep you posted.

Hello, All. My Slime Rancher would play for a little while, then it would crash and reboot my PC. I reinstalled video drivers but that didn't help. I checked for an updated BIOS as mine was 2 years old. The most recent BIOS said that it would help DDR compatibility. I updated my BIOS and now Slime Rancher plays flawlessly for hours and stopped crashing. Updating your BIOS is pretty scary though. If done improperly, can brick (fry) your PC. Some motherboards have a backup BIOS to protect themselves from a bad "flash". Different motherboards can update differently, so my procedure for updating may not be your procedure. Check the manufacture website and/or the manual for details.
