Option to replace the main character?

I don't mind playing as a woman, but her ugly anime hair, her shark-like eyes and her alcoholic red nose are really ugly to see. She looks like a DeviantArt first original character, being as boring as generic as possible while managing to be ugly at the same time.

This is the protag. Get over it. It's a first person game. Complaining about it is wasting your time. Beatrix has been designed and that design is permanent.

Oh you wanna customize her? Well, if that gets added I don't think that'd be too hard to add. But I don't know anything about programming. There's been several complains about her appearances, so the developers might add in customizing the rancher. I don't know.

That really would be appreciated. I hate her design so much that I haven't played the game since it came out of early access.

They are not going to add any customization. They would have to undo work they have already done, which is time better spent produing new content and fixing bugs.

It's obvious that MP had and has no intention of allowing Beatrix to be changed. The end credits and the map icon feature art of her specifically. These things would have to be removed for the sake of consistency if they planned to offer customization....and considering that it would render current and any future art they may release obselete, that's not going to happen.

They are specifically telling the story of Beatrix LeBeau, who they have designed fully from 2D all the way into her 3D model. If you don't like it....too bad. It's a first person game and you see her for seconds each playthrough.

It's a character you rarely ever see, since it's first person. If you enjoy the rest of the game, can't you just ignore it?

lol! should've emailed them or something then =P you asked on a public forum, you're getting answers from the public. Sorry if they aren't what you want to hear, but not sure what you were expecting to get in terms of responses when you asked on the PUBLIC forums xD

Go look up an email or see if they have a twitter or facebook and ask them directly. I don't recall seeing them answer anything in steam threads, so you might have better luck actually getting an answer if you seek them out directly instead of hope they decide to read your post =P

Yep. You want the Devs direct attention, email them. They have a support email available, which you can find on the Monomi Park Forums. You'll probably get the exact same answer you're getting from the forums here.

Sorry us nobodies have the common sense not to demand features that won't actually improve the game as a whole. The Devs aren't obligated to pay attention to you just because you want something from them.

There is no "issue to fix". You have a personal problem with the character design. You'll have to get over it.

Surprise, you're not the first to demand this and the Devs are probably tired of dealing with folks like you whining about this. Play the game or don't. Like the character or don't. They've already designed Beatrix and added her fully, model and art, into the game, with no intention of changing it.

Well the 'nobody' comment was pretty uncalled for too =P so you could say the OP started it.

All in all i think everyone should respect each others opinions and the OP should go directly to the devs with their game-ruining grievance over a character you see only inside the house and on the starting screen =P

people are allowed to not like the character model, and sure they can go email the devs to try and get a option to remove or change it

but calling people that are answering on their thread 'nobodies' just because we happen to not immediately agree with the OP and jump on the 'i hate the character' bandwagon isn't going to help anything either

I'm passively annoyed, mostly. If I was being aggressive, you'd know for certain. This is actually concentrated effort to seem flat instead of angry. So take that for what you will, I suppose.
