Play button wont work!

When i press the play button for slime rancher it wont work i keep pressing and pressing and nothing pops up. when i try to play a different game it wont let me because it says slime rancher is launching... Please help me if u know how to fix this!

Try to restart your computer.
If it still doesn't work try to log out from your steam account and reconect again

I am encountering this issue as well. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted computer and the issue persists.

I have also tried to run the game directly off of the .exe itself, but it crashes at the menu.

Another user on the same computer is able to run it without issue on his windows account. We have shared access to each others games.

I did nothing and it started working..

So, further troubleshooting. If the actual owner of the game signs in on my profile, the play button works and I can run the game without issue.

If I sign back in afterwards, even though family sharing is turned on, it does not allow me to play the game.

Nope! It's for reference for other people if they have the same issue. Good documentation and all that.

In our case, It was a matter of revoking the computer sharing for steam family sharing, and then re-adding the permissions. After that, the games worked without issue.
